Rinne will have a vhl rating next year as we are a year behind It says "Presently retired" in the rules when that was posted he wasn't "presently retired" it also says that the only goalie rules are: has to either be under contract or an rfa next season. Rinne is under contract and an eligible vhl player

Rinne is under contract and an eligible vhl player I don't believe 'presently retired' meant in September of 2020. That's insane. So if a player had retired one day after that post was written, they'd be eligible? So Corey Crawford is eligible for this draft since he retired in January? WTF? I don't believe anyone else interpreted it like that. Myself and most people assumed that meant they couldn't be retired at the time of the draft. So someone could have used Matiss Kivlenieks to meet the requirements?

Crawford retired before the season even started so will be a 55OV and falls under the "presently retired" bucket. I feel like comparing retirement (voluntary) and tragic death (involuntary) may be a little tone deaf and missing the point here.

He retired after the rules posted date so by Scott's ruling, he would qualify.

The original post was also written September 8th, 2020 which was before the last season was even over. I interpreted 'presently retired' as anyone who was retired prior to the first game of this season, which Crawford was... and Rinne wasn't.

I'm just gonna drop this and move on for the better of the league and the enjoyment of the expansion draft. I already yelled at Wolf enough on Facebook.
