before you all go planning your cap projections for next season, I think there is an error in the posted RFA scale. Will discussi n staff boards and confirm the correct scale

I mentioned this to Eric the other day and will put here as well. Is there any thought for next year to have a separate pay scale for defensemen?

This is something I need to work on on my end for next season. I've noticed that bottom pairing Dmen are rating slightly too high IMO. It seems they are around 70-71, but to match forwards they should really be in the 68-70 range.

I wonder if it's just an OV formula we can change for defensemen instead of adjusting their ratings.

So Nik was right, as he usually is.
I made a correction with the Skaters signing scale, and I highlighted the correction in red. I think what happened was I originally screenscaptured the out of date rulebook and not the one we finalized with the proper scale.
It should now reflect here with the accurate scale (yeah, I know I said this before and it wasn't accurate), and it is now reflected in the rulebook.
This makes sense to me now because the example I used for the bridge scale was 75 OV ($6,500,000) which is also shown on the signing scale. And yes 75 OV and 76 OV both make $6,500,000 but the difference between them is that 75 OV can be bridged and 76 OV cannot.

We didn't do it the first go round because it was already complicated enough developing the scale. We also found that contract value based on the scale were mote or less on par with negotiated deals from previous seasons, regardless if they were forward or defence However this was obviously done using prior seasons ratings. We may have to revisit it next offaeason

Mentioned this on discord as well but for anyone who missed it, I’ll be doing the dice rolls for the Pacific division and I’ll most likely start them tonight.
So if you’re a pacific division team get those emails in soon! Will be recording it as well.

And a vital key part to remember, as per the VHL Rulebook
10.16 The RFA Bridge Scale will apply to skaters rated 75 OV and lower, and goaltenders rated 80 OV or lower, but only on one-way contracts. If the Bridge Scale scales a players salary below the $1,000,000 (one-way) threshold, then it as well will not be permitted.
Players who scale under $1,000,000 and are considered a 'two-way' contract can only be signed to a max of 2 years, in accordance to the dice roll.
