There has been a ton of GMs retaining salary in trades in recent weeks.
I have begun to apply cap hits to just one single cap hit, and what I mean by this, I will try explaining with an example.
Detroit has 4 years worth of a Cap Hit on his roster, each season has different totals, however. But instead of creating 3 different cap hits and clouding up roster pages, I created one Cap Hit and adjusted the salary owed for each individual season.
Year 1: 9,500,000
Year 2: 6,500,000
Year 3: 3,250,000
Year 4: 3,250,000
Each year I adjusted the salary owing.
This is where some GMs have gotten confused though, and a few have messaged me saying their cap hits were wrong, which I expected at first, because currently on Detroit's roster it says "Cap Hit 4 years @ 9,500,000"
That'll make you assume I messed up and that the cap hit is 9.5 for 4 years.
But if you click on the link above your roster that says "Pro Team PlayersInfo", it will show all of your players and their contract details. You will then see that your Cap Hit (if you have one), will display the correct totals for each corresponding year.
So this off-season, when the playoffs are completed and I switch the sim into the new year, Detroit's Cap Hit will show as 6,500,000 for 3 years instead. Charging 6.5 to his total payroll instead of the previous 9.5
I hope this clears things up and any future scenarios like this.
I've changed it like this just so there isn't a ton of Cap Hits showing on peoples rosters. I can just put them all under one of them. Some teams still have multiple cap hits, but I am gonna to update them all soon.
