Hey boys so as some of you know im a fireman in the city if Providence, Rhode Island. I also run our citys hockey team. We play in a 9 dept league and there are a few former players that ended up getting on departments here that I skate against.
Pawtucket Fire Dept: Paul Guay Howie Rosenblatt
Warwick Fire Dept Chris Winnes
Providence Fire Dept Rob Gribbon
North Kingstown Police Dept Jay Rainville. (Former Twins pitcher)
We have tons of guys on various depts that played D1, D3, Juniors but these guys are the highest profile.
Rosenblatt I grew up watching him punch out everyine at the AHL level, wicked nice guy and still a beast.
Paul Guay played like 10yrs in the NHL, dont really know him too well he hit a rut in warmuos a few yrs ago and retired from hockey all together.
Chris Winnes is a wicked nice regular dude. Very humble.
Jay Rainville was drafted in the 1st rd for the Twins and was a stud 6'4 225 pitcher but retired early due to injuries. He 100% could of at least made AHL in hockey. Hes unreal but loved baseball more.
Rob Gribbon on my job filled in for the Pbruins once or twice in the past. He was kinda like a phenom here back in the day. He no longer plays net just skates out.
And a new kid from the academy who was assigned to my truck and group, his father played pro in AHL and was a former stud at Boston College Joe Augustine. The guy had a 1pt per game for BC and led them in scoring as a Dman even over teamate Joey Mullen. He just got his 500th win coaching club hockey at University of Rhode Island
