We as a staff have been discussing possible cap circumvention in regards mostly to the cap floor.
We as a staff are implementing a rule that the staff has the right to void any contracts detrimental to the league. The nhl had a similar policy.
This is to protect standards being set to high by teams offering ridiculous one year deals on fourth line players to reach the cap floor.
We will block any deals that do this. If shawn Thornton or others are getting 4,5, 9 million dollar one year deals Then the staff will nullify these deals. Operate your teams properly abd responsibly And in good faith.

I thought contracts were based mainly on NHL production. If someone wants to give a 4th liner 6 million why can't they? It shouldn't screw up future contracts should it?

Rerates are based on nhl production joel but contracts are based on more so vhl market place than nhl.

They don't want teams to so obviously tank, and for good reason. You should at least have to field a team that has the proper players to hit the minimum, I would also like it to be extended that you have to hit the minimum without cap held, but I doubt that would happen.
Teams tanking that hard is pretty bad imo.
edit: at least this is my interpretation of why this rule is made

It is a combination of both that will lead towards a resigning. Pretty much the easiest way to put it. NHL stats set the area for where a person should be resigned, VHL contracts determine it further.
