The new system only deals with Free Agents who could not come to terms with their teams during the season and go into the off-season as free agents. We will continue to negotiate deals with teams from the point of opening up the re-signing period (usually around the new year) up until the end of the season.
You will also have to continue to use this process with Restricted Free Agents.
