you just built a strawman argument. Nobody is asking the players from the "draft" aka "picks" to be rescinded. Therefore there is no "fairness" issue. We are asking for PROSPECT CLAIMS to be structured and less of the beaker full of rat semen it is now, because the current system is unfair as fuck and has a team VALIDLY CLAIMING ELEVEN PROSPECTS SIMULTANEOUSLY. The entire point of the rule wasn't to be "fair". It was to help ailing teams get more prospects in their system in an attempt to increase parity. I saw this from the moment the rule was created and pretty much everyone should have. If you had wanted a certain player so badly that it has gotten you this worked up you probably could have easily made a trade to grab a late 3rd and draft him. Yes, that was the aim of the rule. I was hoping there would be a rule that would assist in parity. I know we needed something to help the bottom teams. Which is why I suggested this on FEBRUARY 26TH 2015 Although I will concede that when the waiver rule was posted I DIDN'T see this coming. I should have though, don't know why I didn't. When the drafted started I thought, "oh well, after the draft people's lists will be relatively full, a couple of guys will be created, everybody will claim 2-3 guys, the worst teams will get the best of the bunch, but everybody will get something, it won't be a big deal." Nope. FYI, it's not about me getting or not getting a guy. It currently stands I WILL be most likely getting a few players due to my teams poor standings relative to the rest of the league. It's that the this should have been a minor change to give the non-playoff teams something without completely screwing the playoff teams and making a mockery of the draft system. |

Yeah I picked one guy. This whole selecting multiple guys at once is a joke. Also gms not taking the time to select guys that other teams have claimed is a joke. Winnipeg tryed to claim a player I DRAFTED. Not went undrafted I picked him with one of my 3rd round draft picks. Probably just an oversight but still, doesn't seem guys are taking this whole thing very seriously. Just going crazy. There needs to be a better structure for sure.

It's up to general managers to make sure they don't claim a guy that was already drafted. Why exactly is this a big deal for you? It's been dealt with.

Someone tried to claim a player that was drafted in the 2nd round last year. It's just oversight.
Or that time someone tried to claim a player that was drafted in the 3rd round a while ago, then followed it up with a different player that was already drafted.

I know it's been delt with and fast which is good. But those have to be posted by a staff member. Yes up to gms to know who is taken and who isn't but when it's going through you guys before it gets posted and it's not getting caught then before it's posted. Why even send it to a staff member that way it's all gms responsibly to post and now it doesn't have to go through you guys and get over looked at a higher level is all I'm suggesting.

I'm not trying to get down on the staff at all. I guess I'm just trying to find out the reason stuff has to go through the staff. If all the misses that have happened recently and in the past. Of course stuff will get missed. But why not have the gms post that stuff then you guys police it from there. That ways it's the gms miss and not your guys. |
