Two trades today in the NHL

The weird one:

Philly sends Lecavailer and Luke Schenn to LA for Jordan Weal and Philly's 3rd. Philly also retains 50% of both players salaries

And the big one:

Columbus and Nashville swap Ryan Johansen and Seth Jones.

Nice to see a player for player deal, which has become such a rarity in the NHL

And although its not a trade, Mike Richards will be playing the rest of the season with the Washington Capitals

The Jones - Johansen swap makes a ton of sense. Good deal for both teams.

[Toronto Maple Leafs]

Johansen should see an uptick in prouction, but ultimately I like the deal best for Columbus. Jones is going to be the no.1 defenseman they sorely need.
