Myself and my Co-Commisisoner Kyle in the leagues that we run have yet again created our 2nd edition of player ratings! We have gone even more in depth this time around making sure we used the whole spectrum of ratings for each category for both forwards, defenseman and goaltending. We have not yet ran any test runs with our new rating package but we thought we would at least get them out to you guys now as the overall ratings will stay relatively the same in aspect to where each player is currently ranked. We have also added a new sheet that shows the overalls of both Forwards and Defenseman without taking into account LD and EX, therefor showing a players true skill rating. You will notice overalls are a little higher than last year, and the differentiation of elite players is a bit more evident. Of course we need to run test runs to ensure that things are running smoothly. Please keep in mind we have not finished the FG and PS ratings for any of the positions, but these have little to no impact on what most people are looking for. The FG and PS ratings will be completed sometime this week. Without further to do here are the 2016-2017 Ratings Package (Beta Stage) docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QBmX1v8U3oRic6mxhmfqjcnB7rRVtOFO-tMA2K9P3S8/pubhtml

Good job on these!
Ben Hutton's 62 overall skill rating seems very low, though. The kid was arguably the Canucks' most consistent two-way defenseman last season, made Canada's World Championship team and comfortably played 1st / 2nd pairing minutes the entire year.
He's much better than most of the borderline AHL/NHL players around him (Kindl, Connauton, Oesterle, Weber, Bartkowski) and should, IMO be rated similar to Ryan Murray (67) and Brian Dumoulin (66).

Thanks for picking this up, with the formulas we use in the google docs sometimes some columns can change without us noticing, for example Huttons Durability was a 63 instead of the 83. His skating was a 73 instead of an 83 and his endurance was a 71 instead of an 81. His rating is now fixed. I also assume you were referring to his rating in the No EX no LD column Thanks again though!

Not enough time to look over all of this yet, but overall pretty well done. Thought maybe Barkov was rated too high due to his short season, but checking the numbers he seems to already be docked appropriately for it.

Thought maybe Barkov was rated too high due to his short season, but checking the numbers he seems to already be docked appropriately for it. What we try and do is take a player who has missed a certain amount of games over the course of a season and we then take their PPG and multiply it into what a full 82 game season would have been. We then take their stats and dock it anywhere from 5-15% based on the amount of time they missed.

Are these the ratings we're using for VHL?
