I make only one exception to this fashion fopaux; if I am playing hockey, sometimes I will come to the rink with the hockey pants and long socks on and I wear sandles so it is easy to immediately put on shin guards and skates. Now this is only for roller hockey. For ice, I won't be wearing any open-toed shoes to a freezer. Plus there is way more gear to put on.

I only wear socks/sandals combo in 2 situations during sports briefly.

1. On my way to golf before I put on my golf shoes so that I can cool the "dogs" down after golf when I strip the socks and golf shoes off before I go into the bar and crush beers and a chicken Parm sando and fries

2. At the ice rink in the locker room as I stretch out pre game, and lather up my lower back in icy hot (old man style).

Only 2 accepted times in my opinion
