We have added a VHL Mediator to the staff

I just want to announce that we have completed our staff group for the time being with the addition of our VHL Mediator!

The VHL Mediator is also known as Jay Seo. Jay is our former Boston Bruins GM who left his incredible team due to a real life job in hockey. Jay is completely aware and up to date of the ongoing happenings in the VHL as he has assisted us at various times when we have needed help with player contract signings.

Jay has committed the time to be a full time staff member and gives us the huge benefit of being completely independent and non bias. This is a fantastic asset to have not only for contract negotiations but in all aspects of the league.

Please join me in welcoming back Jay to the VHL in a full time capacity once again!

Thanks Scott and the VHL leadership group! It's good to be back. 

My role will be to help make the contract negotiation and player re-signing process as smooth, quick and consistent as possible for everyone in the league. The VHL staff has undergone some changes recently, so I'll be assisting the staff in identifying appropriate comparables, providing input on negotiations, and helping out as needed.

In case anyone's concerned about my influence on negotiations, I can assure you that they won't suddenly become more difficult, and that you won't see any drastic or unusual changes to the current system. I understand that not everyone enjoys the negotiation process; my goal is to help everyone, from staff to GMs, get through it so that you can focus on fun things like building your team and winning hockey games. Additionally, negotiations and re-signings have always been, and will continue to be, a team effort.
