Really happy I got Egor Afanasyev. Many people had him going in the first round and ended up going 45th to Nashville.

I took him at 33 even considered taking him at 27 but figured I could drop back. I probably could have dropped back again maybe a couple spots and picked up a 3rd, but not worth risking not getting the guy you want.

I think he has huge potential and already has the big NHL body to perform 6’4 201.. He lead his entire USHL team in points and other than Bobby Brink has the most points in the USHL for this draft class. There isn’t one spot in his game where he is lacking. I think Nashville got a steal at 45 and hopefully I got one at 33

If he was still on the board at 37, I would have taken him.
