Man, you might want to hold on to those 1sts next time Chicago. Your last 2 trades look like this.
1st, 1st , Montoya, Lundmark, and a 3rd for Sykora and Christensen
2008 is an extremely deep draft and those picks will most likely be high. I'd much rather have a potential franchise player (or 2), a top goaltending prospect, and a 3rd liner than a $3.9 million floater (Pending UFA) and a 3rd liner with potential, who has no chance of moving up the depth chart.
Just my opinion...

Doesn't that botch him from the league, and therefore make this deal a little sketchy? If it is for sure that Lundmark is off to Russia...

I looked at the rules on the website and im pretty sure the player gets rated for another year even if he doesnt play.

I know his ratings will be there, and yes he does get re-rated, he moves down a bit, it happens to all the European playing players that once played in the NHL, that is why there were ratings on guys like Hlavac and what not last year even. However, that isn't my query, my query is whether or not he gets removed before the season or after since the season hasn't started yet and he has signed in Russia.
