Better numbers?
Barely, their save percentage is tied. If I get swept or done if five, Fleury won't warrant a ton of consideration, but if it takes six or seven games, he will deserve nomination and perhaps the award. He has been far and away as shown by his selection in the three stars and his record and stats this playoff (especially pre-Finals) that he has been the best player in the playoffs and the most valuable to his team, the exact thing that the Conn Smythe is awarded for, "The player judged to be the most valuable to his team during the playoffs."

Past winners on losing teams have been extraordinary circumstances like Leach in 1976 when he set the record for goals in a playoffs or seven game series where the goalies have played lights out as the underdogs like Giggy and Hextall.
If Pittsburgh keeps putting up 5 goals a game, I can't see it being Fleury.
I think Michalek has been more clutch. Like Game 2. That could have been the TSN turning point of the series.
