Detroit went away on holidays and provided a list to a staff member.
This list was forgotten about and not used which bumped detroit down from the pick at 34 overall.
Detroit also was away for the third round which resulted in no pick being made in that round.
In lieu of this situation the staff is awarding a compensatory pick in 2015 to detroit. This pick will be 31st overall.
Detroit also expressed concern that this would push his rebuild further back so with that in mind we are making this pick TRADEABLE so that if detroit prefers to trade this pick for an asset now then he may do so.
Wolf can you please add "2015 31st overall pick" onto Detroit prospect list it will be tracked.
For the record this compensation pick has been used before in the vhl before and I believe new jersey had it. Forget why it was but precedence has been set
Thanks guys! Scott

sounds fair it is a better draft in 15 than 14 anyway. maybe he comes out ahead in the deal.
