Hey folks,
Sorry for the bit of delay. I was meaning to get some sort of update out sooner, but I ended up dealing with an unexpected medical issue which landed me in the ER at 4 in the morning a few days ago. I have been put on antibiotics and pain medication since then, but the medical issue is going to need surgery. I am unsure when the surgery will be, I will find out this Friday when I go in for my surgical consultant appointment and then I will have a better idea on that front.
I am also in the middle of my finals for school. My final exams are on Monday (14th) and Tuesday (15th), so not only did this medical emergency happen at a very bad time, and between trying to study for finals and dealing with what I am dealing with, I haven't really been in the state of mind I needed to be in to get the regular season fired up here in the VHL.
With all that said....
My goal is to begin the 2020-2021 VHL regular season on Wednesday, December 16th. I know this is a week away, but I need to focus all of my capable energy on studying and preparing for my finals on the 14th and 15th. I am at the end of my 3 year program so these are literally the biggest exams I'm about to do. And I have to do them while dealing with the current pain I am. It hasn't been a great week for me, but always I will power through and I am hoping for fluidity and good health to return in my life as we get closer to Christmas.
I will get the regular season schedule up tomorrow, Thursday the 10th. As well as switch all of the links back to our regular season index and update the sim. Once you see the regular season schedule has been posted, that is when you can begin sending in lines.
I will keep people posted with any news I may or may not have, but until then, prepare for a start date of Wednesday, December 16th. Thanks everyone!

Take your time brother. No rush. Push back another week or two if needed. Personal, family, and health all take precedent.

I agree with taking your time. It's the holidays... you obviously have your attentions needed elsewhere. We're not going anywhere. If the season doesn't start until the new year, I think that will be O.K.. Get your health and schooling taken care of first!
Get Well and Good Luck on Finals.

Get well soon Eric. Let us know if you need anything, unless its Scott in a banana costume. Then you're in your own.

Sorry to hear Eric, hopefully a full recovery is around the corner. If you want to start Jan 1, we would all understand and be happy to wait. Best of luck on your exams.

I really appreciate all of the kind words and support from everybody. Just goes to show the commitment from all the GMs in this league and that no matter what you all will stick it out during all the ebbs and flows of the league. I was feeling a little pressured to get things started, but just knowing everyone here isn't gonna go anywhere is super reassuring and what makes this league so great.
Thanks to the narcotic pain meds, I have been a bit more functioning of a human the last couple days. Looking forward to my surgical consultant appointment tomorrow to see what my next steps are.
That said, the regular season schedule is NOW POSTED! Teams can begin downloading the newest league file and begin sending in lines for a December 16th start date.
Again, thanks for all the support everyone. I'll keep you posted if anything changes.
