And Biron has gone through 1/3 of the season already, and has been brilliant the whole time. I'd say 1/3 of the season is quite a long stretch. Brilliant isnt exactly the first word that comes to mind. He's played alright. And all of you are overlooking Biron's inconsistancy in the past. He's playing well this season, true, but for all we know, he could end up like Esche very very soon.

He might have been inconsistent in the past, but he isnt anymore. Where are you getting the idea that Biron would ever be like Esche? Looks like your just pulling that out of your ass. Biron's a seasoned vet, who is in his prime. He's played 340 games, posting 153 wins and has a 0.910 SV% in his career. He's already accomplished more than Esche ever could, and is just entering his prime.

Miller came on strong post lockout and stole the job but now Biron is once again showing what he could do. 2003-04 52GP 26W 18L 5T .913SV% 2002-03 54GP 17W 28L 6T .908SV% 2001-02 72GP 31W 28L 10T .915SV% Biron had to stand on his head prelockout Now once again he is showing what he can do.

This trade has more to do with bad timing then anything. If Bergeron was not on the Injured list and playing a regular shift, I don't think GM's would be raising a stink. I think given the circumstances and timing of the deal is raises some eyebrows.
It's not bad enough to turn down. Bergeron is a very talented young man. The question is, will he return to action? and if so when?
