The 2021 VHL Pre-Season will begin on Monday, October 4!
The pre-season schedule is officially up!
Please send your lines to begin the pre-season by October 4th, by sending them to the league the old fashion way via e-mail! The web line editor is extremely buggy, and in my many tests, they only save one game worth of lines at a time. I am going to work on a different method that will make uploading lines easier, but unfortunately the web editor will remain offline in the mean time. An upload lines feature is at the top of my to do list for here and another league as well, so do know I am currently working on a fix, but my PHP and MySQL skills are not very polished, so this task is proving a little more difficult than I initially thought it would.
As for this VHL season, I originally wanted to mimic the NHL schedule. But over time I realized it would actually put us ahead of schedule and create an even larger window in the off-season of downtime. We are also going to be hosting a 2022 VHL Olympics tournament in the middle of our season! So sticking to the NHL schedule was going to prove a little difficult. Mirroring the NHL schedule is something I may revisit next season.
I plan to organize the VHL Olympics sometime in February, the same time as the real 2022 Winter Olympics. I'll post more details on that in a couple months time, everyone will have fair shot to participate.
Lastly, any RFAs still unsigned that are in current negotiations, we apologize for the delay. Once the off-season festivities fizzled down, a lot of us took some extended time off for a break. It is my priority to provide all the outstanding negotiations (there is about 10 or so) responses. I do not intend to leave players unsigned by the time the regular season starts.
To add onto that, the RFA re-signing window as well as the UFA Auction window for 2021 closes on December 1st. So you still have time to iron out your rosters for the 2021-2022 season!
Any questions, fire em my way. See ya October 4th!
