Greetings wonderful GMs of the Virtual Hockey League, and Crazy Joe:
We decided to break for the holidays starting tomorrow, December 21st. I was originally going to sim right up to Christmas Eve, but I am getting called into work the next 3 days, all 12 hour shifts, and getting free time to update the league this week will be a bit of a struggle. Not only that, but with the uncertainty around the NHL and the fact they probably aren't going to have their Olympics, means we have an entire February where I purposefully 'booked' off for the VHL for our own Olympics. So that might not even happen now which means we have a 3 week lull in our schedule. So we're going to have a bit of a longer Christmas break this year to slow down our schedule and then wait and see what to do for February.
And then after Christmas I will be going away on a little holiday so I won't be available for a couple days, but I also don't want to go too long without any games being played so here's the current Christmas schedule.
December 21 - No Sim
December 22 - No Sim
December 23 - No Sim
December 24 - No Sim
December 25 - No Sim
December 26 - No Sim
December 27 - No Sim
December 28 - No Sim
December 29 - SIM
December 30 - SIM
December 31 - SIM
January 1 - No Sim
Janaury 2 - SIM
Apologies to those that look forward to checking the scores every day, but there won't be many sims from now until January 2nd. We'll continue the month of January as normal operations and then we'll have to figure out what we're doing in February where we had originally scheduled a 3 week break for the Olympics.... whether that is happening is pretty much determined by the NHL at this point.
With so much uncertainty around the NHL right now, we've actually caught up to them game wise and now we are about a month ahead of schedule which would just create more downtime in the off-season, so I am forced to attempt to 'slow' down our pace over the holiday season.
Hope that is good with everyone, stay merry this Christmas, enjoy your time with friends and family, and don't forget to drink a case of bud light.
