Well, as round one of the VHL Cup Playoffs nears an end I believe that I deliver an overdue press conference on the state of my team and the mangerial brains behind it.
I would first like to send out my condolences to the New Jersey Devils after I swept them, better luck next year. I Steven Jakobsen as owner, GM and coach of this club would like to continually improve upon my team and even though I am in the midst of a so far succesful playoffs, am looking towards next season and already have some plans in place that will help ensure the the core of this seasons team reamains in tact and that free agent signings are not to be relied on to bring success for next season.
I however must admit that the transactions that I made this season I am very glad with. Allthough I have given up some good players, like Sykora, Weekes, Kasparaitis, Weight and Poti, I am glad that players that I have recieved in return such as Sundin, Daze, Hamrlik, Kaberle and Zhitnik have been worth the sacrifice and that other players that I received like Tellqvist, Antropov, Hrdina and Riberio will blossom into great players in the future that my team can use to anchor ourselves as contenders for a long time to come.
I would also like to express my apoligies for the limited usage of the league that I have been using, due to summer holdiays and such I have not been able to be the avid contributor that I wished to be, however if my work scheduale and homework load will allow I hope to be an improved contributor to the VHL in the upcoming season.
