This seasons deadline, GM Tanti made many trades and changed up his team alot. Though losing Rick Nash, Martin Havlat, Mathieu Garon and Erik Rasmussen, he also picked up some great players with Marc-Andre Fleury, Jeff O'Neil, Martin Prusek, Phil Kessel, and Anze Kopitar. Each player will have a great impact next season but not to much this season. When GM Tanti was asked about these trades he simply said "I'm not really worried. All these players are great players and if they dont make an impact now they will next season for sure."
Marc-Andre Fleury as shown in the picture above has been moved to Detroit for Rick Nash. Fleury stated "Well i didn't really know that I was going to be traded at the deadline. Actually I'm a little happy I got moved to Detroit. They got a great team and next year will be fun" GM Tanti just had to agree with what Fleury said because he sumed it up so well.
Phil Kessel who was acquired in a trade packaged with Anze Kopitar was traded for Detroit's most offensive player was trade for these players. GM Tanti said "Wow, just wow. Getting these players is such an honor. Yes, I gave up our chances for a stanley cup but it was worth it. These players are going to lead us next year into the cup finals for sure. Just Wow."
Both Jeff O'Neill and Martin Prusek were picked up for relatively cheap. Even though right now they aren't playing so well, they might have a chance to make an impact for Detroit. GM Tanti said "Yes, I know that they aren't doing to well right now. I've always been a fan of O'Neill I think he will play great with there young players. With Fleury in net, Prusek is going to be a great back up for him. He's allows been a solid back up and now he has to prove himself for us"
Can't wait to see whats in store for Detroit in the playoffs if they make it and to see how they do next season with these young players.
