Trade Talk
In terms trading the team is looking for a defensman so Braydon Coburn can develop the way they want to. Rumor has it that the Oilers are talking to the New York Islanders about acquiring one of his young dmen. In other trade news the Oilers have acquired forwards Owen Nolan and Jordan TooToo for two second round draft picks in 07. Nolan brings experiance to a young club and will be able to help out some new comers while TooToo was added for some toughness and depth in the minors system. The trade will be announced once the roster freeze is over.
Draft Day
When the draft is concerned the Oilers GM Lafrance has two first rounders and plans to use them. He mentioned that "I may go off the top ten projected list with my 9th overall pick. We got a guy in mind and would love to pick him up at that pick. With our 23rd overall, we still havent decided what to do with it. We're thinking of drafting a defensman with that pick."
