Miller: Sorry to cut you off, Bob, but The Anaheim Mighty Ducks are getting ready for their press conference and are getting on the air now. Let's head over to Anaheim now.
Nosic: As many of you have heard, the New York Rangers organization as well as our own have agreed to host a Canadian Tire Cup as a sort of exhibition series to warm up our boys before the regular season starts. The dates, although unofficial, are as follows:
Friday June 29 - Game 1 at MSG - 7PM Start
Saturday June 30 - Game 2 at MSG - 7PM Start
Tuesday July 2 - Game 3 at Honda Center - 10 PM Start
Thursday July 4 - Game 4 at Honda Center - 10 PM Start
*Saturday July 6 - Game 5 at MSG - 7PM Start
*Monday July 8 - Game 6 at Honda Center - 10PM Start
*Wednesday July 10 - Game 7 at MSG - 7PM Start
We will now be taking any questions from you, the press as well as the fellow GMs from the VHL.
Reporter: How do you feel going into this series against the Rangers?
Bombay: We, as in the Anaheim Mighty Ducks organization as a whole, feel extremely confident in our ability to play the Rangers. Since the end of last season, we have made huge improvements in virtually all aspects of our game, and I expect our team to put up a rather difficult challenge against the Rangers.
Reporter: Are you expecting any penalty trouble from you squad?
Stansson: We have been leaning towards a more gritty gameplay style over the past recent weeks, and, although I encourage the physical play, we have been practicing a lot of penalty killing, just as a safety measure depending on the leniency of the referees.
O'Ryan: If I may also add onto the idea, we also feel that our physical play is a huge part of our gameplan and as such, we will have to rely on it to be successful.
Reporter: If this is the case, why have you (GM Nosic) traded for players such as Sergei Gonchar and Pavol Demitra in the recent weeks?
Nosic: Water too pure yields no fish. If we built our team entirely on power forwards, than we will not be able to out skate the Pittsburgh's and the Buffalo's in the VHL. I have been after Gonchar for a while because I absolutely adore his offensive capabilities. Demitra is a clutch forward, and his ability is much appreciated on our squad. I look for opportunities to improve our club. Any other questions?
