Random Dime a Dozen Announcer:
Owner/GM/Coach/Superman Steven Jakobsen is pleased to announce the NYR State of the Club Address for the month of July. Topics discussed is the upcoming CTC Cup with the (not so) Mighty Ducks, Recent Acquisitions, Free Agent Hopefuls, Draft Preparation/Review, and a new face coming to the franchise.
Steven Jakobsen:
That's enough, your nosebleed ticket is on the counter on the way out, good job, I almost gave you front row, upper bowl, though you didn't quite warrant that work.
Random Dime a Dozen Announcer:
Thank you for your grace, your charity is great, I was expecting only standing room tickets, however, this I can sell and pay for a penthouse suite for a month with. Not that I would...
Steven Jakobsen:
I have always rewarded good hard work and honest effort. Now to the State of the Club address. Soon the first ever, and hopefully annual CTC Cup will commence between Frank Nosic and myself. The cup is open to other participants, however, you must be an employee of Canadian Tire to qualify. There is a buy in of 500 vBucks with all going to the winner, along with other various amounts of money transferred due to some goofy, and some realistic items coming into play. I plan on winning the event by a landslide, however, want to win at home for the fans, so I expect a five game series in favor of the Rangers. Note to fans, tickets are on sale, and a free duck will be handed out at the door for roasting, and the food booths will be selling a new product, limited time only, Roasted Duck, to commemorate this great event.
Recently, on the trade market, I have been proud to acquire Christian Backman, Radek Martinek, Mark Mowers and prospect Jhonas Enroth. All four men bring pieces to the puzzle that I felt the team was missing beforehand, Frantisek Kaberle, Jordan Leopold and prospect Vasily Koshechkin will all be missed, as will the three third round draft picks, however, I deemed it necessary for the well being of the club that this action be taken. Don't be surprised to see more trade action in the near future as I look to tweak my roster going into the season.
The New York Rangers will be aggressively attacking the free agent market looking for a player or player(s) that could assist the club in areas that I deem necessary of assistance. I will not however release any names or contract brackets as to not give my colleagues any indication as to what my plans are with free agency as to not get out foxed.
As for the draft, I am very pleased that the organization was able to add quality prospects like Max Pacioretty, Bill Sweatt, Michal Repik, Oscar Moller, Joakim Andersson, and Mike Hoeffel. I am hoping to add a few more players via the draft, however will again not disclose any names, I also hope to maybe move up in the draft to secure one or more players that I hope to draft. Preperation has gone well so far, as who I have been interested in, has been available with few flaws and I hope the process will continue.
As for the new face of the franchise, the New York Rangers are pleased to announce that the Dime a Dozen Announcer, whose name is actually Foster Hewitt IV (he doesn't know this), is hired to be the official spokesperson of the New York Rangers hockey club, and duties will involve announcing State of the Club addresses and other various spokesperson duties.
