Fans go "Ga Ga" in La La Land
With finishing 9th again for the 2nd straight season, Los Angeles GM Greg Dufour sought to make serious changes to his roster. Gone are Pavel Datsyuk and Darcy Tucker and in are a host of names including Tomas Kaberle, Justin Williams and Shawn Horcoff.
LA dipped heavily into the Free Agent market scooping up Juraj Kolnik, Josh Gratton, Steve Montador, and Ian Moran, while letting Robert Lang go and re-signing at 1.5 less than he would have made if he had just re-signing after the season
"Depth should not be an issue this year. We have at least 10 NHL ready defencemen and 15 NHL caliber forwards in case of injury issues. Players will have to work hard to keep their roster spots."
GM Dufour is excited about landing Igor Grigorenko: a player who could fill the void that Alexi Yashin will leave after this season. The Kings will be well baleneced up front, and bring back one of the top defence cores. MArtin Biron will see the majority of time in goal with Fredrik Norrena and Tim Thomas fighting it out at training camp for the final spot.
The roster looks so far like this
