The official date for the 2023 Trade Deadline is Saturday, March 11th, at 6pm eastern time, 3pm pacific.
The temporary salary cap increase will come into effect on February 11th, and the new cap will be $86,625,000
This is roughly a week later than the NHL's deadline, but we wanted to push it back a week in order to provide at least a 30 day grace period of the temporary 5% salary cap increase and a 30 day grace period of getting your UFA offers in.
This is going to be the one and ONLY reminder for this season, as I am getting a bit exhausted micro-managing a handful of certain teams every year. If you snooze, you lose.
Not only is March 11th the Trade Deadline, it is ALSO the deadline to submit UFA offers. If you fail to submit an offer for a UFA by March 11th, they will automatically be walking to free agency.
This is also the first year of our newly implemented 'Game 50 No Trade and Sign', which I think can be found in Section 7 of the Rulebook. Any pending UFA acquired after the acquiring teams Game 50, CANNOT BE SIGNED. These players are considered 'rentals'.
This is extremely important information to be re-familiarized with, as we are now approaching our trade deadline, I don't wish to see teams acquiring pending UFAs and then realizing they aren't eligible to be signed after the fact.
I am going to tag every team so this post reaches maximum visibility.
To those few who have sent in UFA offers already, we thank you. We have responses ready, I just have to formulate them and get the replies sent out this weekend. Thanks everyone! Let's go, it's now crunch time!

Dallas Stars: I had the money to spend but exactly why i didn't spend it. Just because you have the ability to, doesn't mean you should! Unless you plan on retaining for trade value after the 50 game no trade limit as a rebuilding team imo
