2024 UFA Announcement

The 2024 UFA signing period is now open.
We have always announced the opening of the UFA period in December, but admittedly I have just been so busy this year and occupied with matters in my personal life, that I knew even if we announced the opening of the UFA signing period, I wouldn't have been able to touch any of the offers until now anyway.
- Please send all UFA offers to ufa.vhlpa.agent@gmail.com
- Remember, teams are only permitted a max of TWO UFA signings per year.
- Please keep your e-mails to under 500 words. I know some of you are very articulate and have a good ability to argue your cases, but when we have 25-40 offers that are giant walls of text, it takes more of the agents times to dissect and write appropiate responses. I spent way too much of my time sifting through offer after offer last year. The shorter the argument, the more codensed the numbers are, the quicker you'll get a response. Please don't write a novel.
- The deadline to submit your UFA offers is the VHL Trade Deadline. Now since we delayed a month this year in opening up the UFA re-signing period, I will scale back the VHL Trade Deadline a bit further into the season. The NHL Trade Deadline would technically fall on Day 151 in our schedule, but in our case, I will set the VHL Trade Deadline to Day 170
That will provide teams a little 'extra' time in getting in their offers, and if we set the deadline on Day 170, teams will still have approximately 9 to 10 games remaining to prep for the playoffs post-deadline.
