With week one of free agent frenzy in to books, the Boston Bruins GM has been heard wandering the halls of TD Garden muttering something along the lines of 'This Better Work'. With a huge need for goals, GM Healy set the targets high. Aiming for 2 of the top scoring talents available, the Bruins decided that the center position was the better fit and Signed Mr. William Karlsson to a 4 year, $10 Million Dollar per season contract in hopes he can stabilize the top line, boost this potentially explosive offense, and teach this young core how to compete on a much higher level. We asked William for a few words on his very limited contact with the Bruins and the City of Boston and all he said was, "Jag är här för att göra mål och äta musselsoppa. Det är allt". Thank You Mr. Karlsson.
Next Up, Dakota Joshua was signed to a 4 year, $24 Million Dollar contract to help solidify the top 9 and help with the scoring on the 2nd Power Play unit. Dakota stated, he's excited to begin working with the boys and getting used to the city. Slating in on the wing with Knies on the other side and Cozens in the middle, this could be a very surprising 3rd line for Boston.
With the majority of funds for the season locked up, the Bruins now turn to solidifying the 4th line and perhaps a 3rd line defenseman or 2. We'll see how the rest of this off season progresses and we look forward to seeing how this Boston team reacts with these new signings.
