The fact that we are arguing about Joel Armia just proves Montreal fans are whack. I mean, I think we knew this when they called the cops on a legal hit and still bitch about it.

Armia was just one example, he is also rated higher then Jordan Staal DF, again, your numbers arent going to convince me that Skinner is a more effective defensive player then Jordan stall. sometimes numbers dont tell the story obviously.

Arizona: here are the stats. Montreal - I still dont believe you.. According to "Stats" jon merril is just as good as Ryan Mcdonnaugh in the 3 most critical categories, one is a top 4 d man on a stanley cup winning team, one was a healthy scratch and -11 on the team who they beat in the finals and the eye test would tell you he is probably even worse then that lol. Just saying, when the stat you are using is saying shitty defensive players are rating better then players deployed for their defensive skills maybe we are looking at the wrong metrics..

McDonagh is also a 76 overall compared to Merill at 71.

How is this still going on?
We are now fully self-reliant for ratings. We no longer are at the mercy of mysterious ratings package creators who may or may not create anything decent and we have no control over the formula

You've always had blinders for Canadien's players. Right now this is you arguing that a 4th liner that isnt very good should be better. You havent provided any argument or statistical proof. All you've ever said was I watched hockey for years. I know more than you. Get your head out of your ass. Plus/Minus is as much a team stat than individual stat. It doesnt matter and shouldnt matter in terms of a defensive rating individually.

Rick I can do this all day. Jordan Staal career wise has been a fantastic defensive player. That is until this past season where he had an abysmal defensive showing and the data supports that... Jordan Staal EV performance in 2019-2020: Jordan Staal EV performance in 2020-2021: It's as if you didn't watch hockey all at last season and are solely basing your opinions on what happened during the 2019-2020 and prior. In which case if we were discussing the rating package for last year, you'd be bang on for all the players you've brought up, but unfortunately for your cause, you're a year behind and so are taking L after L.
