A short guide on how to sign your RFAs
RFA Scale for Skaters:
RFA Scale for Goaltenders:
Okay, so to make it clear, I will be using my own team as an example, so here is a list of my RFAs. Please e-mail rfa.vhlpa.agent@gmail.com your list of RFAs. I will put in quotations how I want you to structure the e-mail.
What this e-mail tells me, is that Philadelphia is electing to 'control' the amount of years I want Ilya Samsonov to sign. Every team gets to control one (1) RFA of their choosing in terms of years. Please designate ONE player with a contract yearly term next to their name. That way we know to automatically sign that player to those terms, and every other player then goes to dice.
It is also CRUCIAL to include their OVERALL rating in brackets. Notice how I have every players OV next to their name? This makes it easy for us to find their contract value via the Skaters and Goaltenders signing scale. It also helps us know who is eligible for a bridge deal (75 and lower for skaters) and (80 and lower for goaltenders)
Bridge Scale (Using 75 OV as an example) :
Dice Scale (Agents Use Only):
So the agent for the Metropolitan division will look at my e-mail and begin the dice roll process, and lets just say for example these were the rolls and this is how we would reply to your e-mail:
We would then reply to your e-mail with the above, with the dice results, and then you reply which amount of years for each player, if applicable. Remember, a Dice Roll of 1 is an automatic 1 year term, so there is no GM choice when a 1 is rolled.
Once you select the terms of each player, we will send you a finalized e-mail of all of the contractual terms for every RFA. It is then up to you, by August 1st to sign them or not. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SIGN THE PLAYER(S) IF YOU DO NOT CHOOSE. If you wish to not sign an RFA to their terms, they will enter the free agency pool.
Also, if you have not released the RFAs you do not want to sign already, please include who you are releasing in the e-mail so I can remove them and tidy up your rosters.
Bridge Scale Note: And as I already mentioned above, there is bridge scale system in place. 75 and lower for skaters, 80 and lower for goaltenders. If for example you have a Skater rated 75 OV, they are eligible for the bridge scale. We will use 75 OV as an example below.
Bridge Scale:
Example: According to the scale, if your RFA has a contract demand of, for example, 4 years, that RFA would automatically be signed to a bridge scale of a 4 year deal @ $5,963,750. Or if they had a demand of 1 year (rolled a 1 on the dice rolls), they’d have a contract demand of 1 year @ $4,355,000.
This gives teams a bit of flexibility for their younger, not as established players. That's why in an instance like this, it is important to select the appropiate amount of years as a 4 year deal in this instance would be a little bit cheaper if say you decided on 5 years.
Important Dates:
July 1: You may begin sending your RFA re-signings in to rfa.vhlpa.agent@gmail.com (RFA signing open entire month of July)
July 15: We will begin allowing offer sheets. If you submit an offer sheet, it will only be considered if the contractual terms are higher than the signing scale and you have proper compensation. If you wish to avoid offer sheets, best get your players signed before July 15.
August 1: If you do not sign your RFAs by this date, they become UFAs
If you have any questions, drop them in this thread. I know this is the first year using this new system so I will be lenient and patient with GMs this year and allow things to be a little be murky for awhile while we get ourselves situated with this new process.
Thanks everyone!
