I think we have over 2/3 of teams RFA lists in. Send them in if you haven't already!

Asked on discord but I'll ask here too for visibility.
For a 68 overall skater, if I calculated correctly would get 1,020,000 based on the scale. Does this mean he can only sign for 5 years since any other bridge would take him below 1 mil?

So this was an unforseen issue when we switched to 68 as the lowest rating you could get a one way contract. It's something we didn't realize until we started rolling dice and will be something we clean up next year For this year we did the following: If you want / roll 5 years they get 1,020,000 per season As we do not allow two way deals longer than 2 yeats, if you roll / want 4 or lower they signed a 2 year deal at the bridged value. If you rolled a 1, this would apply two a one year deal. For example of you rolled 3, and selected the 3 year option there would get a 2 year contract x 892,500 per season

5yrs x $1m is an absurd contract to allow imo.
No agent would’ve ever given that much term at that AAV, there’s basically zero risk to a GM signing an NHL level RFA to that.

Signing anyone at 5x1m per year would be kinda nuts.

Also it makes no sense to allow a 68ov to bridge anyways when at 67ov you have to pay $990k.
Like I get to pay a 68ov player 670k for 1yr based on bridge scale but if that same player was 60ov I’d have to pay them $725k.

I knew there would be some kinks to iron out with this new system, and this will be something we address for next seasons RFA period. But as of right now, we are too far in the RFA re-signing process to make any adjustments at this time.
I think what we will eventually do is also make a cap for what OV a one-way deal is, say 69 (Nice) is the threshold where you must sign a one way contract no matter how 'bridged' the player is.
Any players 68 or lower can only sign 1 to 2 year two-way contracts.
Of course this is all tentative and something I am brainstorming on the fly here, but this process will definitely be cleaned up for next summer.

So there’s nothing about not allowing 5yr x $1.02m contracts that I found but it does specify that bridge scale cannot apply in any case that would make the salary under $1m. So according to the rules 68ov players are not eligible for bridge scale.
From section 10.16
“If the Bridge Scale scales a players salary below the $1,000,000 (one-way) threshold, then it as well will not be permitted.”

Also, is Bridging a player mandatory? Say if I have a player just over the million but I want to keep his RFA Rights that expire in 3 years... Can I just pay his worth for just 3 years?
